The Boot was made for Havant Art Centre The theme was shoes so I made my work boot. As a kerb layer the toe end of your boots will get a hole from kicking kerbs into place. It was an ideal way to get entry to the inside of the sculpture.  The inside of the boot was warm and very comfortable place and the muffled sounds made it similar to climbing in a airing cupboard as a child. It was also used as a focal point for story  telling. Children would sit around the boot and the story teller sat in the hole.

 It measured 5m x 4m and was made entirely stapled cardboard. The sole was made by laminatingsheets of carboard together, was 150mm thick and had to be made in three sections.
